WHAT IS SPIRIT?
- Spirit is an untethered jailbreak by comex and chpwn for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch on the latest firmwares (3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.2).
- It’s by far the quickest and easiest method to jailbreak your iDevice; as simple to use as blackra1n.
- Spirit is NOT a carrier unlock.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch on firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3, or 3.2.
- An activated device: one not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
- Any version of iTunes 9 (including 9.1.1).
- Syncing with iTunes before trying this is highly recommended.

Note: Jailbreaking is still experimental on iPad devices, some Cydia packages not designed for this device may screw up your iPad and require you to restore. Be careful!
HOW DO I JAILBREAK WITH SPIRIT?
- First and foremost, if you currently are using a tethered jailbreak, you have to restore to use Spirit. Do not upgrade if you use an unlock on an iPhone 3G or 3GS. (You can, however, restore to 3.1.2 if you have SHSH blobs for that version.)
- Connect your device to your PC or Mac and make sure it is powered on.
- Run Spirit.exe (PC USERS: if you get any DLL errors, place Spirit.exe in “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support", if this problem persists, you may be missing the required DLLs. If so, go here and save the DLLs in “C:\Windows\System 32")

- Click Jailbreak. The button will display “Jailbreaking…” in grayed-out letters for a few seconds before a dialog box pops up to inform you that the jailbreaking process is complete.
- An abstract picture with an overlaid progress bar will then appear on your iDevice screen. It will steadily fill up (this shouldn’t take more than a few minutes).
- When it is done, your iDevice will reset itself and bring you to the lock screen. When you unlock your device, you will see that Cydia has been installed. Congratulations, your device is now Jailbroken!
